2000 GMC C2500 Power Steering Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the power steering hoses with hydraulic boost on 2000 GMC C2500?
A: The initial step when installing hydraulic boost requires users to confirm the vehicle stays off and seals every hose opening until replacement of the power steering hoses. The first step involves uninstalling both the hydraulic booster outlet hose from its respective locations on the Power Steering Pump and hydraulic booster. Both the hydraulic booster and Power Steering Pump must have their hydraulic booster inlet hose removed. Neptune asks technicians to detach the power steering inlet hose first from the hydraulic booster and power steering gear and then to remove the Power Steering Cooler inlet hose and Power Steering Cooler outlet hose from the Power Steering Pump. Connect the Power Steering Cooler outlet hose to the Power Steering Pump after following the fastener notice in service precautions then connect the Power Steering Cooler inlet hose to the power steering gear while tightening hose connections to 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The power steering inlet hose should be connected to both the power steering gear and the hydraulic booster . Ensure to tighten the fittings to 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The procedure requires you to connect the hydraulic booster inlet hose towards the Power Steering Pump while uniting it to the hydraulic booster before tightening both fittings to 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). To complete the procedure connect the hydraulic booster outlet hose and attach it to the Power Steering Pump as well as the hydraulic booster at 28 nm (20 ft. Lbs.) torque. Completion of secure hose connections requires bleeding the power steering system followed by hose leak inspections.
