How to service and repair the Air Bag Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2000 GMC Safari?

The Air Bag Clock Spring Assembly can be serviced after first disabling the SIR system. Unscrew the steering wheel and shrouds and unscrew the wire harness assembly. Take out coil assembly and retaining clip. To install, all fasteners should be fixed, and the coil assembly should be installed correctly. Install the parts again and activate SIR system.
