2000 GMC Savana 3500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve in the auxiliary system on 2000 GMC Savana 3500?
A: Commence the txv thermal expansion valve replacement by removing the Evaporator core and then carefully pull off the sealer from around the txv while remembering the tube placement on the core. First detach the clip which maintains the capillary tube on the Evaporator core while disconnecting the Evaporator tubes from the txv before extracting the txv from the core. Install the txv by placing it back onto the core and reconnect the Evaporator tube connections while tightening the connections to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Installation of the clip and tube must match the exact location and orientation that we recorded during the process of disassembly. The installation process ends by mounting the Evaporator core and reusing the original placement method of the capillary tube with both the clip and pack sealer where the txv exists.
