Start by using a tool to free the Spark Plug from its housing then eliminate any dirt from the Spark Plug chamber when the engine temperature is safe for work. Insert the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) into the Spark Plug port and apply compressed air through it to keep the valves stable. Put on the valve spring compressor (J 38606) to the valve spring then press the valve locks, valve cap, and valve spring out through compression. Check and replace the valve spring if it shows signs of damage before you separate the spring seal and Valve Stem Oil Seal. Insert the new Valve Stem Oil Seal/spring seat onto the valve guide boss with suitable tool pressure before installing the valve spring and cap. Work the valve by using the valve spring compressor tool (J 38606), put the valve locks into place using grease as needed for support. No sealing surfaces should contact the valve before bolt-tightening the Rocker Arm. At last loosen the air pressure and take out the Spark Plug port adapter (J 22794) before putting the Spark Plug in place.
