2001 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2001 Buick LeSabre?
A: The replacement process for underhood fuse block begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by removing the cover from that fuse block. Proceed by unfastening the positive battery cables' fastener at the underhood fuse block and then detach the wiring harness clip from the accumulator cover before moving the cables away. Unscrew the retaining clip of the evaporator hose from the accumulator cover before placing it to the side with care. After removing the accumulator cover you should begin loosening fasteners which retain the underhood fuse block connectors. The 4 cam locks on the underhood fuse block need removal from their block position before lifting the assembly off its base which requires disconnecting the engine harness connector to extract the underhood fuse block from the vehicle. Start the procedure by removing the fasteners positioned on the underhood fuse block base then take the base assembly out. Install the underhood fuse block base into the vehicle followed by attaching its fasteners until they reach a torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Fasten the engine harness connector to its position on the underhood fuse block while torquing the 3 retaining bolts to 6.6 n.m (58 lb in). Follow this procedure to install the underhood fuse block after pressing it into the 4 retaining locks until an audible click happens then place the accumulator cover in position. After securing the wiring harness into the accumulator cover clip you should position the positive cables onto the stud and install the positive Battery Cable fastener onto the underhood fuse block while tightening it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). You must attach the cover to the underhood fuse block before directing the evaporator hose toward the accumulator cover and then using the retaining clip for fixation before engaging the negative Battery Cable.
