2001 Buick Park Avenue A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on 2001 Buick Park Avenue?
A: Handling refrigerant removal operations is the first step before replacing an hvac system condenser. Start by removing the hood latch support bracket and continue with the right headlamp assembly removal for l67 engine models before removing the upper Radiator seal. The a/c compressor hose assembly bolt needs to be removed before you can disconnect both the compressor hose and evaporator tube from the condenser. Use the special length bolt when reinstalling the condenser hose bracket bolt onto the Radiator to prevent damage to the Radiator end tank. The mounting bolts of the condenser to Radiator must be removed before extracting the condenser out of the vehicle. First add correct refrigerant oil volume to the new condenser before installing it together with mounting bolts while tightening them to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Reassemble the condenser hose bracket first then bolt it down to 2.5 n.m (23 lb in). Then connect and tighten the evaporator tube along with compressor hose to condenser bolt to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). The procedure ends with an a/c system recharge and component fitting leak test through the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
