2001 Cadillac DeVille Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2001 Cadillac DeVille?
A: The first step to replace the Air Suspension Compressor is to lift the vehicle into position. The first step before unhinging the Air Hose from the intake Air Filter and Air Suspension Compressor involves cleaning both components together with their surroundings to stop dirt from getting inside the alc system. Start by disconnecting the air tube from the air dryer and separating the bolt which holds the air tube to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket and its harness tie. Start by taking out the intake Air Filter followed by pulling the vehicle harness connector out of the Air Suspension Compressor connector assembly. Begin by taking off the vehicle's two nuts and two bolts and Air Suspension Compressor assembly before unscrewing the Air Suspension Compressor connector from its connector anchor. Disassemble the Air Suspension Compressor bracket by removing two bolts and the heat shield before removing the air dryer from the bracket. Start by removing the Air Hose from two compressor locations before taking off the Air Suspension Compressor screws and brackets. Secure the two brackets onto the Air Suspension Compressor with two screws that reach 7 nm torque (62 inch lbs.). Connect the Air Hose at 2 points to the Air Suspension Compressor before installing the air dryer directly on the Air Suspension Compressor. Three bolts need to secure the heat shield on the Air Suspension Compressor bracket but install the fourth heat shield bolt only after tubing connection then tighten the bolts to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Fasten the Air Suspension Compressor connector to its dedicated position on the connector anchor followed by assembly installation to the vehicle through two nuts and bolts which should be tightened to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). First connect the harness connector to the Air Suspension Compressor connector and next install the intake Air Filter before connecting the air tube to the air dryer. The job completes with connecting the air tube to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket using a bolt and applying 4 nm torque (35 inch lbs.). You must first turn the ignition on before waiting 45 seconds to allow air adjustable shock absorbers to fill up with residual pressure before you proceed with lowering the vehicle.
