2001 Cadillac Seville Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2001 Cadillac Seville?
A: For Air Suspension Compressor replacement start by lifting the vehicle. Begin by wiping clean both components and their surrounding space before you disconnect the Air Hose from the intake Air Filter or the Air Suspension Compressor to stop dust from damaging the alc system. First disconnect the air tube from the air dryer after you remove the bolt and harness tie connected to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket. The replacement process starts by separating the intake Air Filter with a vehicle harness connector from Air Suspension Compressor connector and removing two nuts and two bolts and the Air Suspension Compressor assembly from your car. First disconnect the Air Suspension Compressor connector from its anchor point before removing two bolts and the heat shield from the Air Suspension Compressor bracket. Start by taking the air dryer off the Air Suspension Compressor while you disconnect the Air Hose from the compressor at two separate points before unscrewing two brackets from the Air Suspension Compressor unit. Apply two 7 nm torque (62 inch lbs.) to the screws when installing the 2 brackets onto the Air Suspension Compressor. The connection of the Air Hose to the Air Suspension Compressor takes place at 2 points before fitting the air dryer onto the compressor. Fit the heat shield onto the Air Suspension Compressor bracket through three bolts but leave the fourth bolt for future installation when connecting the air tube. When finished, tighten each bolt to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Screw the Air Suspension Compressor connector into the connector anchor before you attach the Air Suspension Compressor assembly to the vehicle along with 2 nuts and 2 bolts which should be tightened to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Fully connect the harness connector to the Air Suspension Compressor connector before adding the intake Air Filter and air tube to the air dryer. Then secure the air tube and harness tie to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket with the bolt tightened to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). Drive only once the ignition switch turns on and a 45-second delay follows to allow the residual pressure to accumulate through the air adjustable shock absorbers before lowering the vehicle.
