Start the process of replacing the tail/turn signal lamp through the rear compartment lid by removing the rear compartment sill plate. You should disconnect the taillamp connector after pulling back the rear compartment trim panel. First push the grommet through the rear compartment before removing the nuts which secure the taillamp body. Afterward take out the taillamp. When installing the taillamp fit the connector alongside the grommet through the body while ensuring the grommet is seated fully. After inserting the taillamp into its body position reinstall the nuts while tightening them to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Complete the taillamp connector installation while putting back the rear compartment sill plate before closing the rear compartment lid.
