2001 Chevrolet Camaro Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: In order to replace the coolant recovery reservoir, first remove the battery, then reposition the reservoir hose clamp at the Radiator and remove reservoir hose from the Radiator. If the vehicle has the 5.7 l engine, remove the accelerator and cruise control servo cable bolts and repositioned the servo cable adjuster. Then unscrew the bolt of the coolant recovery reservoir and the wiring harness rosebud clip from the neck of the reservoir and then unfasten the coolant recovery reservoir and the reservoir hose from it. Clean the reservoir with the help of soap and water and make sure it is washed properly. For installation, de-route reservoir hose out of reservoir and install coolant recovery reservoir and secure it with the wiring harness rosebud clip at the neck. Change the reservoir bolt and tighten it to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). If necessary, place the servo cable adjuster and bolt on the servo cable using 8nm (71 inch lbs) tightening. Remove the reservoir hose from the Radiator and reposition the reservoir hose clamp, reinstall the battery, and put more engine coolant to the full cold mark over the reservoir.
