2002 Chevrolet Camaro Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Begin coolant recovery reservoir replacement by removing the battery followed by moving the hose clamp from the Radiator then disconnecting the hose from the Radiator. When using a 5.7l engine you must remove the servo cable bolts from the accelerator and cruise control while moving the adjuster into position. Start by removing the coolant recovery reservoir mounting bolt followed by the wiring harness rosebud clip from the reservoir neck before uninstalling both the reservoir itself and its connecting hose. Connection of the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the reservoir starts the procedure followed by attaching the reservoir to its mounting location using the wiring harness rosebud clip for retention purposes. First secure the coolant recovery reservoir bolt at 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque level before putting the servo cable adjuster into position and installing servo cable bolts to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). Reinstall the battery before you reattach the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the Radiator and position the reservoir hose clamp. Then fill the coolant recovery reservoir to the full cold mark.
