Chevrolet Camaro Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on Chevrolet Camaro?
A: The first step to replace the Coolant Reservoir requires battery removal. Begin the process by disconnecting the Coolant Reservoir hose from the Radiator along with the removal of accelerator and cruise control servo cable bolts if your vehicle has a 5.7 l engine. Once these steps are completed, adjust the accelerator and cruise control servo cable. To replace the Coolant Reservoir begin by removing the bolt that secures it and the wiring harness rosebud clip from the reservoir neck. After that, take out the Coolant Reservoir and hose. Use soap and water to clean the reservoir, rinsing it completely. Install the reservoir first by connecting its hose to the Coolant Reservoir then fasten the reservoir securely. The wiring harness rosebud clip gets placed on the reservoir neck before you tighten the Coolant Reservoir bolt to 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). For vehicles with a 5.7 l engine position the accelerator and cruise control servo cable adjuster before installing its bolts at 8 nm (71 inch lbs. Torque setting). After finishing your Radiator installation reattach the battery then fill the reservoir with coolant until reaching the mark that says "full cold".
