2001 Chevrolet Camaro Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper motor on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Begin by taking off the wiper arms plus the air inlet grille as well as the water shield. Unscrew the connecting pieces and break the linkage connection at both assemblies with the Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232). Take the wiper motor loose from its bracket slots after taking the LH linkage assembly apart with its screw. Untwist the wiper motor from its RH linkage connection using the Wiper Transmission Separator tool J 39232 and disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector. Plug in the electrical connector to the wiper motor before attaching the RH linkage assembly to the motor with the Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529). Make sure the crank arm stands in the inner wipe position with the drive pin inserted into the cam receptacle. Set the two wiper motor locator pads into their slots of the bracket and screw it in place at 10 N.m (7.5 lb ft). Join the RH linkage assembly to the LH linkage assembly through the Wiper Transmission Installer J 39529 and attach the LH linkage assembly with its bolt and nut. Torque both connections to 7.5 lb ft(10 N.m). Put the water shield on the LH linkage assembly and arrange it with the flat part beneath the windshield. Then put on the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms.
