  A: After removing the Cylinder Head and gasket and anti-rotation brackets the valve lifter replacement process can begin. It is essential to maintain proper placement of hydraulic valve lifters because they need no adjustment before original reinstallation. When installing new valve lifters apply gm p/n 1052365 camshaft assembly lube or equivalent technical product to their surfaces. Position the valve lifters into their bores so the flat side of each lifter faces the flat side of its anti-rotation bracket and the bottom roller faces the camshaft lobe at a parallel angle. Mount the anti-rotation brackets onto each valve lifter and apply torque of 11 nm (97 inch lbs.) to the anti-rotation bracket bolts. Place the Cylinder Head gasket before setting the Cylinder Head into position.
