2001 Chevrolet Corvette Blower Motor Resistor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the blower motor resistor on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Start by removing the bottom front kick-up panel. Then detach the ip electrical center cover and disconnect blo mot maxifuse(R) #49 from its location. First disconnect the Blower Motor resistor electrically from the motor then remove the lower ip insulator panel on the right side. Unscrew the front screws of the Blower Motor resistor that are closest to the dashboard until they sit at 5 mm (0.197 in), then remove the rear screw. Adjust the rear section downward while watching to prevent damaging the part that goes into the hvac module before taking out the Blower Motor resistor from the vehicle. If the sealing condition of the Blower Motor resistor shows problems you should replace it. Place the Blower Motor resistor slots on the forward screws first before fitting the upper part into the hvac unit and aligning the component. Place the rear retaining screw lightly into place then turn all screws to 1.6 n.m (14 lb in) to hold the parts correctly. Place the electrical cables between the resistor and the Blower Motor unit to align them properly. Install the rh lower ip insulator panel plus reconnect blo mot maxifuse(R) #49 to ip electrical center while reattaching its cover before placing the front floor kick-up panel back in position.
