  A: For replacement of wheel drive shaft outer joint and seal the following tools are required. J 42572 drive axle seal clamp pliers. Start by wrapping the Axle Shaft with a shop towel and lay out the wheel drive shaft horizontally in a bench vise. Remove the big seal retaining clamp from cvj seal using side cutter, discard them, followed by small seal retaining clamp. Disassemble the seal from the joint outer race at the large diameter side and mount it behind the joint face. Clean the internal joint from the grease on the joint inner race, cage, as well as the balls after which depose the outer joint from the axle bar rack an assistant could hold the joint housing, place a wooden block between the seal and the joint while striking the block with a hammer to force the Axle Shaft retaining clip. If any residual grease is present, then place the remaining grease in the seal, place the small seal retaining clamp onto the neck of the seal, crimp it using the j 42572, with an adequate gap width of 2 to 3mm. Finally, use the j 42572 to crimp the large seal retaining clamp onto the seal, and inspect the outer CV Joint and wheel drive shaft for smooth function.
