How to replace the evaporator core on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

When replacing the Evaporator core the Heater Core has to be removed first with a subsequent removal of the Heater Core case shroud. The Evaporator core should be removed after uninstalling the Evaporator core bracket screw followed by the Evaporator core removal. When installing a fresh Evaporator core users need to apply the correct amount of refrigerant oil to its core. The installation should start with the Evaporator core but always follow fastener notice in service precautions during the process. Attach the Evaporator core bracket and install its screws by tightening them to 1 n.m (9 lb in). The Heater Core case shroud and its screws should be placed in position and tightened to 1 n.m (9 lb in). Finally, install the Heater Core.
