First remove the nut securing the endgate strut to the endgate panel before removing the strut's nut at the endgate opening and pulling the endgate strut out from the vehicle. Install the endgate strut by placing it into the endgate opening and locking it with the nut according to instructions in Cautions and Notices for fasteners. Attachment of endgate strut begins by installing it on the endgate panel before tightening with a nut. Tighten endgate strut nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft) torque specifications.
