  A: To replace the wheel drive shaft outer joint and seal, you first need the following tools: j 35910 earred clamp tool (J 35910), j 41048 small swage tool (J 41048), and j 8059 snap ring pliers (J 8059). First; take off the large seal retaining clamp from the CV Joint using a side cutter and dispose of it, do the same for the small seal retaining clamp on the half shaft bar. Remove the outboard seal from the CV Joint outer race and slide it to the side of the bar . Clean grease from the CV Joint inner race and apply j 8059 to spread the ears on the race retaining ring to take the CV Joint assembly off the bar. Take off the seal off the bar and tap the CV Joint cage by way of a brass drift and hammer to take off the chrome alloy balls. Align the CV Joint cage and inner race 90 degrees to the outer race and remove them. Rotated the inner race 90 degrees to align to the cage and to swing in the cage window to take it out. Clean solvent is also used to clean the inner and outer race assemblies, the CV Joint cage, and balls before they are dried out and cleaned. Slide the large diameter of the outboard seal over the CV Joint outer race and crimp the large seal retaining clamp using the j 35910, a breaker bar, and a torque wrench to 176 nm (130 ft.
