• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Before replacing the Throttle Body assembly, drain the coolant. Then disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector and the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector, as well as remove the air intake duct remove the accelerator control cable bracket and then run the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses to their respective stops and remove the heater pipe nut at Throttle Body. Before starting, put on safety glasses to protect your eyes from debris. Dissany-weet the nuts and bolts used to attach the Throttle Body to the Intake Manifold and remove the Throttle Body assembly, remembering to pull out the old gasket. Upon installation, check the surface of the gasket of the Intake Manifold and that of the Throttle Body assembly for dirt without relying on any solvent in the repair procedure as it may scratch the surface. If so, replace a new gasket and then align a Throttle Body assembly. Mount the Throttle Body retaining nuts and bolts, which should be screwed with a torque of 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Re-connect the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses, heater pipe nut, and the iac valve, tp sensor connections. Replace the accelerator control cable bracket and the air intake duct and fill the coolant back. Check for throttle clearance (no binding between closed and wide open) and complete throttle operation by working the accelerator pedal, and carpet fit under the accelerator pedal as well.
