• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2002 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, start by draining the coolant. Next, lift the air intake duct away, and disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector, and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Take out the accelerator control cable bracket; then, remove Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses and the heater pipe nut from the Throttle Body. And remove the nuts and bolts that holds Throttle Body to the Intake Manifold and remove the Throttle Body assembly, taking off the old gasket. When installing, clean the gasket surfaces on the Intake Manifold and at the Throttle Body assembly gently without using any solvents and sharp objects that can damage. If required, replace the old gasket with a new one and reinstall the Throttle Body assembly. Install the Throttle Body retaining nuts and bolts with a torque of 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Join the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses and the heater pipe nut, as well as the iac valve and tp sensor electrical connections. Replace the accelerator control cable bracket and air intake duct, fill the coolant levels then to the full extent. Check the throttle to make sure it works freely with no binding from completely shut to wide open positions, use the accelerator pedal to check for full throttle opening and shutting and bad carpeting under the accelerator pedal.
