• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2003 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: In replacing the Throttle Body assembly, you will first need to drain the coolant and remove the air intake duct. Use the iac valve electrical connection and the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connection to disconnect the accelerator control cable bracket. Then, remove the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses and the heater pipe nut connected to the Throttle Body. Undo the nuts and bolts that hold the Throttle Body to the Intake Manifold and remove the Throttle Body assembly and the old gasket. When installing, clean the surfaces on the Intake Manifold, and on the Throttle Body assembly thoroughly, without using any solvents or sharp tools that may damage the system. Install a new gasket, if required, and then replace the Throttle Body assembly in position and fasten it with the retaining nuts and bolts, applying 28 n.m (21 lb ft) of force. Reconnect the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses, the heater pipe nut, the iac valve electrical connector and tp sensor electrical connector and reinstall the accelerator control cable bracket and the air intake duct. Lastly, refill the coolant and check for the full throttle opening and closing position by using the accelerator pedal for it should work freely without binding between fully close and wide open throttle.
