• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2004 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Drain the coolant first to replace the Throttle Body assembly. Then, unscrew the air intake duct and disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector as well as the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. Take off the accelerator control cable bracket, disengage the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses, and heater pipe nut at the throttle assembly. Remove nuts and bolts to detach the Throttle Body from the Intake Manifold and remove the Throttle Body assembly ensuring that you dispose off the old gasket. During the installation, it is important to clean the gasket surfaces on the Intake Manifold and the throttle no body while not using any solvent to avoid destroying them. In case needed, install a new gasket and then place Throttle Body assembly. Install the Throttle Body retaining nuts and bolts, tightening them to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Install the Throttle Body retaining nuts and bolts, tightening them to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Connect the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses and the heater pipe nut, iac valve, and tp sensor electrical connectors. Afterwards, reinstall the accelerator control cable bracket and the air intake duct, then top the coolant. Make sure throttle opens and closes freely without binding between closed position and full wide open position and inspect for full throttle opening and full throttle closing when you squeeze the accelerator pedal and also inspect for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
