• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Drain the coolant first before replacing the Throttle Body assembly. Next, unplug the air intake duct and disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical plug connector along with the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector. The accelerator control cable bracket can be removed. The Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses have to be removed and heater pipe nut on the Throttle Body. Take out the nuts and bolts that hold the Throttle Body on to the Intake Manifold then remove the Throttle Body assembly completely and also remove the previous gasket. When installing, make sure the surfaces on the Intake Manifold and the Throttle Body assembly are cleared of any combustible foam, as the use of solvent can mar the surfaces. If required, replace the new gasket; place the Throttle Body assembly then. Secure it with the retaining nuts and bolts and tighten them to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Then reconnect the Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses, heater pipe nut, iac valve & tp sensor electric connectors. Make the accelerator control cable bracket and air intake duct, then fill the coolant. Finally, invest the throttle having a whole open and close angle with the accelerator pedal moving freely without binding between total close and broad open wide throttle.
