How to replace the muffler on a 4.3 L Utility on 2001 GMC Jimmy?

To change the Muffler on a 4.3 l utility, initially lift and support the vehicle, having the protective goggles and gloves. Take out Catalytic Converter to Muffler flange nuts, remove the insulator from the tail pipe hanger, the insulator from the Muffler hanger for 4-door utilities. Then proceed to remove the insulator from the Muffler and the tail pipe hanger and remove the Muffler and its gasket from the vehicle. For installation: replace a new gasket and the Muffler back on the vehicle, install the insulator to the Muffler and tail pipe hanger, install the insulators to the Muffler hanger for 4-door utilities, and install the insulator to the tail pipe hanger. Make sure you connect the Catalytic Converter to the Muffler flange nuts and tighten them to 40 nm (30 ft lbs) before lowering the machine.
