Muffler W/Tpipe

In order to change the Muffler on a utility 4.3l, start by lifting the vehicle properly and using appropriate supports. Start by removing the Catalytic Converter to Muffler flange nuts before disconnecting the insulator from the Tail Pipe hanger and proceeding by disconnecting the insulators from the Muffler hanger for 4-door utilities and from the Muffler and Tail Pipe hanger. Remove the Muffler from the vehicle as the next step after completing these steps. When installing the new Muffler and gasket on the vehicle you should first attach them before you can proceed to connect the insulator to the Muffler and Tail Pipe hanger and then complete the connection of insulators to the Muffler hanger for 4-door utilities or the insulator to the Tail Pipe hanger. Secure the Muffler to the Catalytic Converter flange by using nuts that you will tighten to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.)., then lower the vehicle.

Before you are about to replace the exhaust manifold pipe, first, ensure that you are in protective goggles and gloves. Lift and appropriately hold the vehicle, then take out the Catalytic Converter. Then, remove the exhaust manifold pipe with manifold flange bolts and take it out together with the exhaust manifold pipe and seal from the vehicle. To fit, place the new seal and exhaust manifold pipe onto the vehicle, then fit the exhaust manifold pipe to the manifold flange bolts, torque to 30 nm (22 ft.lbs.). Lastly, install the Catalytic Converter and lower the vehicle.

For servicing and repairing the Muffler, wear protective goggles and gloves at risk of being injured by rust and sharp edges on the old exhaust parts. When lifting the vehicle, make sure that the lift pads do not touch the three way Catalytic Converter to avoid damage. Oem-standards must to be met for proper vehicle operation for replacement parts. Firstly, lift and firmly secure the vehicle. Remove Catalytic Converter to Muffler flange nuts, disconnect the insulator from the Tail Pipe hanger, and remove the insulators from the Muffler hanger (four door utilities) and insulator from the Muffler and Tail Pipe hanger. Once you remove the Muffler from the vehicle, go ahead and install the new Muffler and gasket while reconnecting the insulator to the Muffler and Tail Pipe hanger while attaching the insulators to Muffler hanger (four door utilities) and Tail Pipe hanger. Mount the Muffler to the Catalytic Converter flange nuts, then tighten it to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.), and finally, lower the car.

Wear protective goggles and gloves when servicing the Exhaust Pipe because worn components have both rust and hazardous sharp edges. The vehicle should be lifted from the frame side rails only if lift pads stay away from the three-way Catalytic Converter to avoid damage. All new replacement parts require meeting oem specifications to ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle. The first step starts with securely supporting the vehicle before any further operations. Next, remove the Catalytic Converter. Once the vehicle is properly supported and stable move on to remove the exhaust manifold pipe from its bolted position with the manifold flange. After that remove the exhaust manifold pipe along with its seal from the vehicle. Put the exhaust manifold pipe along with the new seal on the vehicle while maintaining proper fastener procedures. Fasten exhaust manifold pipe flange bolts at 30 nm torque while keeping the vehicle elevated. After that, reinstall and drop the Catalytic Converter.

Raise and support the vehicle, ensuring protective goggles and gloves are worn.
