2001 GMC Savana 1500 Washer Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on 2001 GMC Savana 1500?
A: Before working on the windshield Washer Pump you must take out the master cylinder and put it aside without separating the brake lines. With the washer solvent bolt out you can handle the container up to reach the washer hose and electrical connector. Pull off the washer hose and electrical connection from the Washer Pump before taking out the washer solvent container. Detach the Washer Pump component from its storage in the washer solvent reservoir. After replacing both parts into the washer solvent container reattach the electrical connector and washer hose to the Washer Pump followed by fitting the tank into the chassis location. Secure the washer solvent container using the bolt until it reaches torque settings of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Replace the master cylinder afterwards.
