How to disconnect and connect the negative battery cable on 2001 GMC Savana 2500?

Turn off all accessories and lamps together with setting ignition to off position prior to starting battery negative cable disconnect and connection procedures. The task requires removal of both the battery ground and bolt from the battery system along with the auxiliary battery system. However, before installing the battery ground (negative) cable and bolt to the battery always remove existing corrosion from the battery terminal bolt flange and the Battery Cable end then securely tighten the terminal bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Set the clock to show the current time then program the customer's preferred radio stations.
