    Q:
How to replace the positive battery cable on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start battery positive cable replacement by taking out part of the coolant recovery reservoir or surge tank from your vehicle. The first step involves disconnecting the battery negative cable then proceeding to disconnect the positive cable. Begin by removing power from the Starter Solenoid positive terminal before disconnecting the junction block positive terminal followed by disconnection of the generator positive terminal. Take the cable out of its placement within the vehicle. When replacing the cable start by reinstalling it into the vehicle then connect the positive lead to the generator while tightening its output (BAT) nut to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Route the Starter Solenoid positive lead first then tighten it to 10 n.m (89 lb in) followed by the junction block positive lead and tighten its nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Follow the sequence by connecting the positive Battery Cable first then tighten its terminal before moving to the negative cable. Secure both terminals of the negative cable to their respective places. The vehicle should now receive its coolant recovery reservoir or surge tank.
