How to replace the auxiliary heater core on 2001 GMC Savana 2500?

The first step to replace an auxiliary heater core is to remove the left rear quarter trim panels followed by removal of the auxiliary heater case from the vehicle. You must remove the heater core from its case after unscrewing all screws positioned at the bottom section. Follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions before placing the heater core into the case and install the top screws to the bottom of the auxiliary heater case with 1.9 N.m (17 lb in) torque. Before finalization you must fix the auxiliary heater case onto the vehicle while also putting on the left rear quarter trim panel.
