How to replace the parking brake cable on 2001 GMC Yukon XL 1500?

Starting the park brake cable replacement process requires users to free the brake then lift and secure the vehicle. The replacement process starts by removing the nut at the threaded end of the intermediate cable and disconnecting both the equalizer from rear park brake cables and cable disconnect from the front cable before removing the intermediate cable. First install the intermediate cable to the front cable before connecting the equalizer to the rear park brake cables. Tighten the nut on the intermediate cable threaded end until it reaches 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.). After removing all safety stands from the vehicle you can lower it while performing adjustments to the park brake system.
