Begin the replacement procedure of the right rear park brake cable RPO NYS by releasing the park brake and raising the vehicle for support. Move the equalizer bar lock by using intermediate cable pressure to lower the cable then allowing it to slide free from the equalizer bar. After pressing the locking tab holders on the mounting bracket you can detach the cable and disassemble the differential clip while removing the bolt connecting it to the rear axle clip. Remove the mounting bracket bolt of the rear brake cable afterward disconnect the brake cable from its lever position. Depress the locking tabs of the brake cable to extract it from the rear brake cable mounting bracket where you can remove it from guides and body mounts. The new brake cable installation requires insertion into the rear brake cable mounting bracket until the locking tabs snap in position followed by connection of the park brake cable to the lever. Fasten the rear park brake cable bracket bolt with a torque of 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). The installation continues with connecting the park brake cable to the differential clip followed by torquing the park brake cable bolt to the rear axle clip at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Thread the park brake cable through all necessary guides and body mounts before inserting it into the mounting bracket until locking tabs engage to connect with the equalizer bar. The last step involves eliminating safety stands and lowering the vehicle down.

Start the replacement process of the left rear park brake cable toward RPO NYS by releasing the park brake then securing the vehicle at a safe height. A user should first remove the park brake cable from the equalizer by pulling down on the intermediate cable after which they should use a tool to depress the locking tabs to free the cable from its mounting bracket. The installation requires removal of the shock absorber mount bolt before disconnecting the lower cable section from the lever through the rear cable mounting bracket bolts. After that detach the brake cable from its lever connection. The brake cable must be extracted from the rear brake cable mounting bracket following locking tab depression on the brake cable. The installation process begins with inserting the new brake cable into the rear brake cable mounting bracket while the locking tabs engage. The park brake cable must be attached to the lever afterward. Drive the rear park brake cable bracket bolt with 61 N.m torque until it reaches 45 lb ft of tightness. Secure the lower shock absorber mount park brake cable together with its bolt by applying 25 N.m (18 lb ft) torque. Set the park brake cable path through guides and body mounts properly before you attach it to the equalizer bar. To finish the parking brake wire installation you must remove the safety stands while lowering the vehicle.

The procedure to work on the right rear parking brake cable requires users to start by releasing the parking brake then supporting the vehicle with lifts. The equalizer nut enables you to release the tension from park brake cables before disconnecting the cable at the equalizer. Begin cable removal by pushing down locking tabs from the mounting bracket followed by removing it from left side guide, right side guide, track bar clips, lever, and backing plate through additional locking tab depression. Begin the installation by mounting the cable to the backing plate until the locking tabs click into place before attaching it to the lever. Connect the cable to track bar clips between its locators before attaching them to right and left side guides. Secure the cable on the mounting bracket by operating the tabs until the locking mechanism snaps into position. Then attach the cable end to the equalizer component before tightening the nut on the intermediate cable to reach 3.5 N.m (31 lb in). When the safety stands are removed the vehicle should be lowered and the park brake cable needs adjustment.

Vehicles with rear disc brakes must be raised securely before starting the process to replace their left rear park brake cable. During the repair of all 15 series vehicles release tension from the park brake cable through its downward pull in front of the equalizer before discharging the left park brake cable from the equalizer bar. In 25/35 series vehicles the automatic adjuster of the park brake cable needs disabling while the cable's attachment to the equalizer gets separated. Press the locking tabs to free the cable from the mounting bracket while the bolt needs to come out to detach it from the shock absorber bracket. The procedure for cable removal from backing plate starts by compressing the spring toward the lever, next depress the locking tabs then pull cable housing out of the backing plate before removing cable through the plate slot. First remove the park brake cable from the lever then extract the cable from outside of the vehicle. Place the cable back into the vehicle before attaching it to the lever. Then install the cable onto the backing plate through the slot by compressing the spring first followed by routing the cable through the slot and finally pushing the cable housing into the backing plate until both locking tabs engage. Secure the cable at the shock absorber bracket with a bolt tightened to 22 N.m (16 lb ft), activate the parking brake cable automatic adjuster, connect the cable at the equalizer for 25/35 series vehicles before completing the installation. During 15 series park brake assembly all vehicles need the left park brake cable attached to the equalizer bar after pulling down on the cable above the equalizer. End the procedure by first removing the safety stands then lowering the vehicle before adjusting the park brake cable.

Starting the replacement process requires the release of the park brake followed by removal of its pedal before accessing the front park brake cable. The carpet requires rolling back to show the cable grommet followed by raising and supporting the vehicle. The procedure starts by removing the grommet and cable from the Floor Pan while disconnecting the front cable from the intermediate cable before taking the cable out from the body mount through tab depression. Start by installing the new cable then release the retainer tabs to mount it on the body. Route the cable through the Floor Pan afterward attaching the front cable to the intermediate cable. Then install the grommet. Finish the task by lowering the vehicle and placing the carpet while reinstalling the park brake pedal followed by adjusting the park brake system.

Connect it to the front cable and the equalizer to the rear park brake cables.

Snap the retainer tabs into the body mount, connect the front cable to the intermediate cable, and route the cable through the floor pan to engage the grommet.

Depress the locking tabs on the brake cable and take the cable out from the guides and body mounts.

Remove the park brake cables from the equalizer bar.

Remove the safety stands, lower the vehicle, and adjust the park brake cable.

Disconnect the front cable from the intermediate cable.

First, release the park brake and then raise and support the vehicle.

Connect the equalizer to the rear park brake cables.

Attach the cable to the track bar and secure with clips, ensuring they are installed between the locators on the track bar for 15 series utilities.

Remove the right park brake cable from the equalizer and detach it from the frame bracket and guides.

Loosen the nut at the equalizer, then disconnect the cable from the equalizer.

Install the rear park brake cables to the equalizer, then install the equalizer and the nut to the threaded end of the intermediate cable, tightening the nut to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).

Repeat the process of removing it from the lever and the backing plate before removing it again.

Disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster, then disconnect the intermediate cable from the rear park brake cable and from the front cable before removing the intermediate cable from the vehicle.

Install the nut to the threaded end of the intermediate cable, tightening it to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).

Disconnect the brake cable from the lever.
