The process to install a new rear door Power Window Switch begins by putting the Ignition Switch in the off position because it prevents shorting out during the removal steps. Users must place protective tape at the spot where they plan to insert their small flat-bladed device to protect the inner door trim panel from damage. Start by using a plastic flat-bladed tool to push the retainer at the switch mounting plate front edge until the retainer releases. Lift both the Power Window Switch together with the mounting plate out of their trim panel position. Next detach the electrical connector from the switch before taking out the assembly from the mounting plate. The switch tabs need to be inserted into the mounting plate before using the pressing motion to lock the switch into position. After attaching the electrical connector to the window switch users must position the door trim panel opening with the mounting plate while applying force to lock them together.
