The first step to replace the Power Window Switch requires using a small flat-bladed tool at the front of the mounting plate allowing you to release the retainer by pressing rearward while lifting up on the plate front. The Power Window Switch requires termination by a safety professional because the express up/down feature operates vehicle doors at high speeds. Protect your panel with tape or coating at the spot where you will put in your tool to stop damage to the door trim. The switch plate and door trim panel removal needs to wait until the Ignition Switch operates in off mode to stop switch shorting. A flat-bladed tool enables removal of the power window and door lock mounting plate assembly through tab disconnect by pressing down its rear section then lifting it out with attached switches. Detach electrical wires and pull the switch off its mounting plate. After placing the switches inside the mounting plate users should connect electrical connectors before sliding the mounting plate tab into the trim panel while pressing down on the front end to start the front retainer.

Begin the Power Window Switch replacement by disconnecting the Power Window Switch to stop accidents during the express down feature which drops the door window rapidly. Before handling tools or door trim or switch plate components make sure you turn off the Ignition Switch as any connection between tool and switch might result in shorting out the system. The base of the flat surface tool should receive protective tape or coating to stop damage from reaching inside the door panel. Start by inserting a flat-bladed tool into the back of the switch plate assembly to remove both power window and door lock switch plate parts from the trim panel. The retainers will release when pressing forward with the tool. You should disconnect the electrical connectors after which you must remove the switches from their mounting plate. The installation process starts with attaching the switches to the mounting plate before connecting the electrical connectors and finally pushing the switch together with the mounting plate into the trim panel.

The first step in Power Window Switch replacement requires the driver to disconnect the Power Window Switch while working inside the door compartment to prevent accidents caused by the express up/down feature. A protective layer should be applied at the small flat-bladed tool entrance point on the inner door trim panel to stop damage from happening. An off ignition position is important for switch safety because the application of flat-bladed tools or metal objects may activate the switch during removal from the harness. Prong the tool beneath the mounting plate assembly of power window and door lock to detach retainers while pushing back then lifting the plate front. Pressing the rear part of the mounting plate will disconnect the retaining tab allowing you to gently lift out the mounting plate when combined with the switches. Extract the electrical connectors before unmounting the switch from its food plate. You should install the switches by inserting them into the mounting plate then joining the electrical connectors before inserting the mounting plate tab into the trim panel while using a press motion to activate the front retainer.

Insert a plastic flat-bladed tool at the front edge of the switch mounting plate and press rearward to release the retainer.

Ensure the ignition switch is in the OFF position to prevent shorting the switch during removal.

Apply protective coating or tape at the insertion point of a small flat-bladed tool to avoid damaging the inner door trim panel.

Install the switch tabs into the mounting plate, press down on the tabs to secure the switch, connect the electrical connector to the window switch, and finally align the mounting plate to the door trim panel, pressing down to secure the retainer.

Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the switch from the mounting plate.

Insert a flat-bladed tool at the front of the mounting plate and press rearward to release the retainer.

Connect the electrical connector to the window switch, then align the bezel with the door trim panel opening and press it into place to secure.

Apply protective coating or tape to the insertion point of a small flat-bladed tool to avoid damaging the inner door trim panel.
