2002 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear tail light assembly or back up, sidemarker, stop, and turn signal bulbs on 2002 Buick Century?
A: Start the tail lamp back up sidemarker stop and turn signal bulb replacement by removing the convenience net from its plastic wingnut retainers if installed in the rear compartment. To get to the remaining plastic wingnuts you must first untwist the tail lamp's visible wingnut then work around the rear trim panel while pulling it back slightly. When you remove the other plastic wingnuts apply gentle force on the tail lamp lens to stabilize it. All wingnuts must be taken out before removing the tail lamp assembly from its position in the rear body panel. To detach the lamp sockets from their tail position, turn the sockets counterclockwise before taking out the tail lamp housing assembly with its included bulbs from their sockets if bulbs replacement becomes necessary. Place the tail lamp bulbs inside the sockets before you orient the sockets clockwise until complete installation of the tail lamp housing. The rear body panel needs positioning with light lens pressure applied during plastic wingnut retainer installation. Install the tail lamp assembly using plastic wingnut retainers before repositioning rear compartment trim panel edges and completing the tail lamp wingnut retainer installation. Speedy installation requires users to secure the rear compartment convenience net to the plastic wingnut retainers before closing the compartment.
