2002 Buick Regal Power Steering Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the power steering pump on 2002 Buick Regal?
A: The replacement of power steering pumps requires drivers to first detach the accessory Drive Belt before lifting and stability-supporting their vehicle. Start by taking off the tire with wheel assembly and then detach the power steering pressure hose together with the return hose from the Power Steering Pump. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the Power Steering Pump followed by bolt removal of the power steering mounting points and Power Steering Pump extraction. The Power Steering Pump reservoir along with the Power Steering Pump pulley must be detached from the pump. Begin installation with Power Steering Pump reservoir attachment to the Power Steering Pump then proceed to install the Power Steering Pump pulley. Place the Power Steering Pump on the engine such that you should firmly tighten its mounting bolts to reach 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs.). Connect power steering pressure hose and return hose to the pump before adding the electrical connector on the Power Steering Pump. You should reinstall the accessory Drive Belt while also performing fluid addition to the power steering system and system bleeding until the system shows no more air bubbles. Check for any fluid leaks.
