How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on 2002 Buick Rendezvous?

The first step to replace the front door latch begins with removing the trim panel before removing the water deflector. The inside handle rods need to be detached from the front door inside handle before you disconnect the clip that holds the outside handle rod to the front door latch. You must first remove front door latch screws before disconnecting its electrical components. Use the access hole in front door inner panel to take out the front door latch while maintaining both inside handle rods that should then be detached from the latch. Installation begins by mounting the front door latch so the inside handle rods penetrate the access opening of the door inner panel. The electrical connectors should be reconnected to the front door latch with attention to the fastener notice before tightening the screws to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Attach the clip to the outside handle rod before connecting it to the latch and fit the Door Handle rods into the inside handle. You should replace the water deflector then put back the front door trim panel. The last step includes checking that the front door latch functions as intended.
