2002 Cadillac Eldorado Coil Springs Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace Coil Springs on 2002 Cadillac Eldorado?
A: You start the coil spring replacement process by raising and supporting the vehicle. Start by removing the tire and wheel followed by securing the outboard lower Control Arm end with the suitable jack. Start by taking out the stabilizer shaft link lower mounting bolt as well as the Shock Absorber lower mounting bolt and detach the automatic level control sensor link from the lower Control Arm. Start to lower the jack-supported Control Arm so the spring pressure releases but continue pulling downward on the Control Arm before removing the spring. The spring orientation for installation requires placement on a flat surface. The lower end should uprise directly from its base when positioned correctly. Set the coil spring in place before placing a jack beneath the outboard portion of the lower Control Arm. Thoroughly insert the knuckle into the Control Arm followed by attaching its nut before you torque it to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.). Install the stabilizer shaft link lower mounting bolt before tightening the lower Shock Absorber mounting bolt up to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.). Before lowering the vehicle to its wheels, turn on the ignition for 45 seconds while the alc system executes the arc to maintain pressure inside the air adjustable shock absorbers. Lower the vehicle while the suspension reaches its design trim height before torquing the lower Control Arm inner nut to 108 nm (80 ft. Lbs.) and stabilizer link lower attachment to 52 nm (38 ft. Lbs.). Finish the job by installing the wheel followed by securely tightening wheel nuts to 190 nm (140 ft. Lbs.).
