2002 Cadillac Escalade Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the A/C Hose on 2002 Cadillac Escalade?
A: The first step when replacing the evaporator tube involves recovering all refrigerant from the system. Start by taking off the evaporator tube nut attached to the evaporator while you disconnect the evaporator tube from that location. The technician needs to remove the evaporator tube nut from both the auxiliary A/C tube and disconnect the evaporator tube from this tube when it exists on the system. Move on to the second phase of vehicle modification by taking out both the right park/turn signal lamp and the grille. Begin by removing the evaporator tube from all connections with the condenser then disconnect the evaporator tube from both the condenser and the evaporator tube before removing it from the car. All old sealing washers must be discarded while all exposed tubes must receive sealed caps. During installation you should use new sealing washers to connect the evaporator tube to the condenser before installing and tightening the evaporator tube nut to the condenser at 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Place back the grille and right park/turn signal lamp as a part of installation. Fitted procedures should use new sealing washers to connect the evaporator tube to the auxiliary A/C tube followed by tightening the evaporator tube nut to the auxiliary A/C tube at 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Install the evaporator tube onto the evaporator before tightening the evaporator tube nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). As the last procedure evacuate the system then recharge it before executing a leak test of all components' fittings with the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
