How to replace the lower trunk latch on 2002 Chevrolet Astro?

In order to install a new lower trunk/liftgate latch in place of the old one, you should remove the trim panel and weather strip deflector. Take out the control rod of the lock assembly and the latch and its pieces. To install, simply fit the control rod to the latch, re-fit all of it and re-fit the trim panel.
