How to replace the rear axle shaft on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?

Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheel, brake rotor, and axle housing cover. On non-traction axles, install J 39446 protector. Remove pinion gear shaft lock bolt and shaft, push axle inward, remove shaft lock, then withdraw axle. Install axle, lock, and shaft in reverse order with threadlocker, reinstall cover, rotor, wheel, lower vehicle.
