2002 Chevrolet Camaro Wiper Arm Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What tools are required to service and repair the wiper arm on 2002 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: The Wiper Arm service requires these three specialized tools: wiper transmission separator (J 39232), wiper transmission installer (J 39529), and Wiper Arm puller (J 39637). Switch the ignition to run mode and let the wipers move to the lowest delay position. After the wipers finish their movement to the inside position press off to stop the engine and use a marker to mark the transparent blade location on the windshield. Lift up the hood then raise the Wiper Arm nut cover before unscrewing it. Unfasten the Wiper Arm from its drive shaft using the Wiper Arm puller tool (J 39637). The Wiper Blade can be detached as needed. Reconnect the Wiper Blade before placing the Wiper Arm onto the transmission drive shaft so the blade matches the previously marked spot. You need to let the Wiper Arm move a little bit while you apply 23 n.m (17 lb ft) to the nut; if the arm shifts away from the right spot loosen the nut and adjust its position. Once you have finished installing the Wiper Arm and securing the nut just put back the hood and the nut cover. Next wipe the position marks from the windshield and operate the wipers to ensure their proper function. Examine if the wipers remain in park mode before you terminate operations.
