2001 Chevrolet Camaro Wiper Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper arm on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: You will need wiper transmission separator (J 39232) and wiper transmission installer (J 39529) to perform this job. Put the key in run mode and set the wiper to its lowest automatic mode. When the wipers end up inside the windshield area turn off the car ignition. Position the Wiper Blade location on the window using tape or a marker then lift the hood and access the Wiper Arm nut housing. Loosen the wiper shaft nut then disassemble the Wiper Arm from the transmission drive shaft by placing it onto the wiper transmission installer (J 39529). Take the Wiper Blade off if necessary. If you took off the Wiper Blade set before disassembly install it back first. Place the Wiper Arm at the target position that marks its original position and slide it onto the transmission drive shaft. The Wiper Arm needs minor adjustment during tightening at 23 n.m (17 lb ft) to reach the correct position. Adjust the Wiper Arm placement by loosening its nut before returning it to the right position. You should finish by placing the hood and nut cover back and then wiping the position marks from the windshield. Move the wipers forward and back to verify the correct wiping behavior before validating that the wipers stop in park position.
