2002 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2002 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Reconnecting negative Battery Cable first, to replace the clutch actuator cylinder. Remove that left i/p lower insulator panel, then remove the clutch master cylinder rod retainer and the rod from the clutch pedal. Lift and appropriately support the vehicle. Disconect the clutch actuator cylinder hose from the hose retaining clip that is located at the rear of the engine. Operating with the hydraulic clutch line separator (J 36221), install the white circular release ring on the actuator hose, while carefully tugging on the master cylinder hose and detach it making sure that both ends of the hose couplings are protected against the drifting/clutter. Now, take off the driveline support assembly and transaxle from the vehicle, after this, unscrew the clutch actuator cylinder mounting bolts, and then after this procedure, extract the clutch actuator cylinder from the driveline support assembly. For installation, place the clutch actuator cylinder into the placing on the driveline support assembly, and bolt mounting bolts which are tightened to 12 nm (106 inch lbs). Reinstall the driveline support assembly and transaxle onto the vehicle, and attach the clutch actuator cylinder hose to the clutch master cylinder hose, making sure that the quick connect fittings are made up. Inspect the hydraulic hoses for twists or kinks and reinstall the clutch actuator cylinder hose back to the hose retaining clip toward the rear of the engine. Lower the vehicle then reinstall the clutch master cylinder rod to the clutch pedal and lock it in place with rod retainer. Reconnect the left i/p lower insulator panel and reconnect the negative Battery Cable, using a torque wrench and tightening it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lb.). After that, program the transmitters and bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
