2003 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Slave Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Slave Cylinder on 2003 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The replacement process for the clutch actuator cylinder starts with negative Battery Cable disconnection. You should begin by taking out the left i/p lower insulator panel followed by removing the clutch master cylinder rod retainer and clutch pedal rod. Lift the vehicle before choosing suitable ground positioning. Retrieve the clutch actuator cylinder hose from its retaining clip which is found at the engine's back. Use the hydraulic clutch line separator (J36221) to depress the white circular release ring on the actuator hose before gently pulling on the master cylinder hose while protecting both hose ends from damage and dirt contamination. The drill begins by removing the transaxle and driveline support assembly from the vehicle following the separation of the clutch actuator cylinder mounting bolts. Finally, extract the clutch actuator cylinder from the driveline support. Position the clutch actuator cylinder onto the driveline support assembly before installing the mounting bolts and finishing their installation at 12 nm torque (106 inch lbs). The driveline support assembly and transaxle installation follows vehicle reattachment before securely connecting the clutch actuator cylinder hose to the clutch master cylinder hose with quick connect fittings properly aligned. Examine hydraulic hoses for any bent locations before returning the clutch actuator hose into its retaining clip near the engine's back end. After lowering the vehicle you should reinstall the clutch master cylinder rod onto the clutch pedal by securing it with its rod retainer. After securing the left i/p lower insulator panel, reattach the negative Battery Cable by tightening the bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). You must complete programming for the transmitters before performing the clutch hydraulic system bleeder operation.
