How to service the MAP Sensor on 2002 Chevrolet Express 2500?

Service of the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor requires you to turn off the ignition first followed by engine cover removal. Separate the MAP Sensor harness connector while exercising caution to prevent damaging either the MAP Sensor or the Intake Manifold through maneuvering. Pull the MAP Sensor straight up with gentle rocking motions until removal and discard its MAP Sensor grommet afterward. To install the new MAP Sensor grommet position it on top of the sensor before you can install the sensor itself and once both pieces are in position you can reconnect the MAP Sensor harness connector before placing the engine cover back in place.
