2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser on 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: The process of repairing or servicing an hvac condenser begins with refrigerant recovery. Begin the service by removing both the lh fender diagonal brace and Radiator from the vehicle. Remove the liquid line nut from the condenser before setting the liquid line to the side. Similarly detach and store the a/c compressor line nut besides it. Roll the condenser top section to the vehicle's back before you lift it out while letting the bottom rubber mounts stay in position. Begin by extracting the upper rubber mounts from the condenser unit. Begin by placing the upper rubber mounts on the condenser and then push the lower ends through the lower rubber mounts while maintaining the upper mounts in their position. Position the condenser top at the rear of the vehicle while installing fresh o-ring seals onto both the a/c compressor hose and condenser tube. Tighten the liquid line nut connecting the condenser to 27 n.m (20 lb ft) for the proper fitting. Connect the a/c compressor hose to the condenser while also tightening its block fitting nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Replace the Radiator and the lh fender diagonal brace. Evacuate and recharge the a/c system and test fittings with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
