2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: Make sure the multifunction turn signal lever rests in the middle of its off position before disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Turn sir off before you take out the Steering Wheel, trim cover and knee bolster. Pull the steering column wire harness out of its retaining bracket before you take off the two wire strap holders. Take off the two connectors from the multifunction turn signal lever bulkhead connector and remove it from the vehicle wire harness. Remove the bolts from the multifunction turn signal lever by hand and pull the lever out. Place the new multifunction turn signal lever on the canceling cam using a small blade and pressing the electrical contact firmly into place. Put back the gray and black connectors to the multifunction turn signal lever bulkhead connector while applying 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) pressure on the retaining bolts. Connect the wire bulkhead back to its position on the vehicle harness system and put steering column harness sections on the installed straps before attaching this harness to the retainers. Reinstall the knee bolster and trim cover before placing the Steering Wheel back in with the lever set to its center position or off. Also reactivate the sir system and reconnect the Battery Cable.
