Turn Signal Switch

The replacement of the headlamp switch starts with removing the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel then continuing to the screws from the headlamp switch housing. Following this step disconnect the foglamp switch along with the headlamp switch from the instrument panel by removing the headlamp switch housing. A flat-bladed tool must be utilized to extract the foglamp switch from its housing with the headlamp switch. Press the foglamp switch into place within the headlamp switch housing until it reaches complete seating position. Join the electrical cables that will link the headlamp switch and foglamp switch. Attach the headlamp housing switch back to the instrument panel while securing it with screws which should be tightened to 2 N.m (18 lb in). You should reinstall the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel as the last step.

The replacement of the headlamp switch starts with removing the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel followed by unfastening the screws on the headlamp switch housing. Disconnect both the electical connectors which service the headlamp switch and foglamp switch after pulling out the headlamp switch housing from its assignment in the instrument panel. A flat bladed tool can be used to detach the foglamp switch from its position inside the headlamp switch housing. To mount the foglamp switch start with pressing it so it becomes completely seated within the headlamp switch housing. Connect the electrical wiring to each of the headlamp switch and foglamp switch devices. Secure the headlamp housing switch at the instrument panel using screws that should be tightened to 2 N.m (18 lb in). The last part of the repair includes reinstallation of the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel.

Start by disabling the SIR system as explained in the Service Precautions section before replacing the multifunction turn signal lever of the vehicle. Detach the wire harness assembly from its mounting strap while taking note of its connector outlet in the abrasion sleeve. Unplug the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly at both ends from the SIR system coil connector and let its 2 endcaps fall out of the grounded housing. Take off both pan head tapping screws from the turn signal/multifunction switch and pull the assembly out of the steering column tilt head. Fasten the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly with the provided 2 pan head tapping screws . Tighten the top screw to 3 N.m (30 lb in) and the side screw to 7 N.m (62 lb in). Push both ends of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connectors into the bulkhead interface then link the switch assembly to the SIR coil connector. Place the wire harness assembly back into its strap after making sure the abrasion sleeve fits correctly on the steering column harness. Let the ignition lock cylinder case wires and electrical connector extend through the middle opening. Reapply both trim sections and activate the SIR system.

Start by taking out the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel after which you can remove the screws from the headlamp switch housing. The first step is to remove the headlamp switch housing from the instrument panel before disconnecting the electric wiring from both the headlamp switch and foglamp switch. A flat blade tool should be used to detach the foglamp switch from within the headlamp switch housing. Start the foglamp installation by pushing the switch through the headlamp switch housing until it achieves total seating. After you have installed the foglamp switch into the headlamp switch housing you should join the electrical connectors to the headlamp switch and the foglamp switch. Install the headlamp housing switch back to the instrument panel while following the Fastener Notice that requires screw tightness at 2 N.m (18 lb in). The final step of the procedure includes putting back the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel.

Take the headlamp switch housing out of the instrument panel.

Install the retaining bolts, tightening them to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.), and connect the gray and black connectors.

Detach the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap and disconnect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector.

Reattach the steering column bulkhead connector to the vehicle wire harness, install the two wire harness straps, and secure the steering column wire harness to the retainer.

Secure the assembly with the two pan head tapping screws, tightening the top screw to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.) and the side screw to 7 Nm (62 in. lbs.).

Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel.

Disconnect the steering column bulkhead connector and the connectors from the multifunction turn signal lever steering column bulkhead connector.
