2001 Chevrolet Impala Turn Signal Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?
A: Before working on the turn signal lever make sure it sits in the off position and turn off the vehicle's power source. Turn off sir before you take out the Steering Wheel and both trim panels from the steering column. Next disconnect the steering column wire harness from the retainer and free two wire harness straps that hold the cable. Disassemble the steering column bulkhead connector by taking it away from both vehicle wire harness and multifunction turn signal lever steering column destinations. Unscrew all retaining bolts from the multifunction turn signal lever then remove the lever. Use a flat-blade tool to press the electrical contact onto the canceling cam when you place the multifunction turn signal lever. Fasten retaining bolts at 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) and link gray and black connectors from the steering column bulkhead to the multifunction turn signal lever. Use the vehicle harness to reattach the bulkhead connector to the steering column then install both wire harness straps to wire harness before locking the harness into position. Put back the steering column trim cover and confirm the multielectronic turn signal lever sits in center position or off before reinstalling the Steering Wheel. Complete the sir routine before reconnecting the ground battery wire.
